14 (Roslindale Square – Heath Street via Dudley Station, Grove Hall, and Jackson Square Station)

14 (Roslindale Square – Heath Street via Dudley Station, Grove Hall, and Jackson Square Station)

by Miles Taylor | Dec 12, 2015 | Miles on the MBTA

The 14 has always struck me as a bit of a weird route. For one thing, its northern terminus is Heath Street, making it the only bus that terminates there (though the 39 goes by that stop, too). For another, the 14’s southern terminus is Roslindale, which seems...

19 (Fields Corner Station – Kenmore or Ruggles Station via Grove Hall and Dudley Station)

503 (EXPRESS BUS Brighton Center – Copley Square via Oak Square and Mass Turnpike)

by Miles Taylor | Aug 22, 2015 | Miles on the MBTA

I think I was WAY too harsh when I reviewed the 501. This was before I started using the Blue Book for bus ridership, so just because MY bus didn’t have a lot of people on it, I didn’t realize that the 501 is the busiest I-90 express! My rant about the...
502 (EXPRESS BUS Watertown Yard – Copley Square via Newton Corner and Mass Turnpike)

502 (EXPRESS BUS Watertown Yard – Copley Square via Newton Corner and Mass Turnpike)

by Miles Taylor | Aug 22, 2015 | Miles on the MBTA

When I reviewed the 504, I talked about how it serves Copley Square most of the time. During rush hours, however, it runs completely express from downtown to Watertown. What bridges that Copley Square gap? Why, the 502, of course! The bus at Copley Square. The 502...
