Miles, would you please explain what you mean by “deviation”? I think you are referring to places where the bus could have stayed on the main road but turned off it to go to a shopping center, dead mall, etc. At least a couple of Virginia local bus systems will go to places that are not on the bus route if you request it ahead of time. I would call those deviations. What would you call them? Thank you.
Seems like the problem is that they’re trying to serve way too much with a single route. This should be broken up into at least two different routes, maybe three.

You’re exactly right! Any time the bus could’ve gone straight but ends up going somewhere else. I’d call those Virginia situations deviations too.
