Taking Long Island Rail Road to Montauk would probably be longer than going to Atlantic City.
You be careful about badmouthing the River Line.
Sure it is light rail, but not a bad ride until the Walter Rand RTC.
At least they use the proper method for bicycle accommodation, that being the bike hooks above the jump seats.

Don’t worry, I love the River LINE and I think every town should have its own River LINE! I was just shocked we had to take it, I wasn’t expecting it!
Okay… I love those long convoluted trips.
Keep it up. I only rarely have had to do this as necessary, lots of time, not much money. But to transit nerds like me, I enjoy these travel journals.
