Hey, guess what! I finally got my old computer with my editing software back from Penn! And with that came footage from two pre-pandemic videos! So hey, check out this weird local Greyhound from Wilmington, DE to Washington, DC! The other video will take longer to edit, and readers of this blog will know that I’ve been swamped with school and work, but…there will be another one someday. For now, enjoy this one, though!

What editing software?
It’s this one called Cyberlink Powerdirector.
Great to hear you got your old computer back Miles! If you don’t mind me asking a few questions here…
Does that mean those CCRTA reviews are coming soon? If possible, could you outsource editing vids to a third-party so they come out more frequently? If so, could that result in more video reviews?
Also, I believe the Subscribe function on the blog site itself isn’t working. Is there a way it can be fixed so I can check my email for new posts instead of having to refresh the page every day to catch them?
Ooh, I didn’t even think about the fact that my CCRTA photos are back, but yes, I’ll have to add those back onto my “I should write that soon” list!
I don’t think I would have a third party edit my videos – I enjoy editing, and I like my style (oftentimes I’ll make on-the-fly decisions while editing that turn out to be highlights of the video for me, such as that “It was at this point that Miles realized” bit at the end of the most recent video). I don’t envision videos being the main purpose of the blog, as much as I enjoy doing them, especially with COVID preventing me from doing video-worthy trips for now. I’ve kinda phased out the idea of doing video reviews unless I’m with friends – if I’m filming myself, then it’s a lot harder to take photos, and the priority is always going to be the print post. I consider videos to be the best way to record longer trips that won’t really see a presence on the print blog, though, like the “cheapest way” stuff and the Greyhound trips; I think once I’m able to do them again, I’ll make a conscious effort to record more of them!
I tinkered around with the Subscribe feature and it should work now! Thanks for letting me know – reach out if you’re still getting an error though!
Miles, whatever you did with the subscription function worked! Thanks!
I get the video editing reasons entirely; if I were in your shoes, I’d do the same thing. Can’t wait for the “cheapest way from Concord, NH to Manassas, VA/Crisfield, MD” vid lol
I really enjoyed this.
Did you notice the hidden symbolism of publishing a blog about a trip from Delaware to DC on 11/7?
Can you think of anyone else who will soon be taking a trip from Delaware to DC?
Hahaha, it was very fitting, wasn’t it? Hopefully the president-elect won’t take the local Greyhound though!
well, our future president seems to be more of an amtrak guy (i mean, they named a whole station after him)
How about this for an adventurous project, Miles?
Would you be up to making a super-review video of all the MBTA bus routes you’ve reviewed and ranking the top ones?
Let me know!
Thanks,
Ill.
