Very interesting! Going south from NYC, in the summer, you could get as far south as Ocean City, MD using several combinations of NJT, SEPTA, & DART.. And, were it not for about a 5-mile gap between the end of Krapf’s Transit Route A west of Coatesville, PA & the end of Red Rose TA’s Route 21 in Gap, you could connect (at least on paper) all the way to Shippensburg, PA (west of Harrisburg) or well into Northern VA.
NICE video, great that you finally came into a territory I know very well 😉
n79 was cut back in 2017. It used to be a full time route, but off peak service was cut. Saturday service was eventually partially brought back.
NICE Bus has two legged transfer NYCT-NICE-NICE and then you could even ask for a transfer for Suffolk. For Metrocard, the two hour resets each time you use it.
Suffolk County Transit Routes aren’t changed since the 1960s, schedule and routing wise, but that S58 SCC deviation actually makes alot of sense, for Suffolk County
You could’ve ask the driver to radio in for that S92 to wait for the connection. Suffolk drivers do radio each other.
You should consider doing the S92 to Orient Point Ferry to New London. Local buses also continuously go from New York City to Hartford, CT
Speaking of ferry connections, the Cape May (NJ)-Lewes (DE) Ferry has direct NJT & DART service to the terminals as well. And, if you are ever in the area of Williamsburg, VA, the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority has a route from there to Surry County, VA, where the bus actually rides ON the Jamestown-Scotland Ferry, across the James River. (It’s usually a cutaway like you would see on FRTA back home.)

You’re foreshadowing a future video with that Central PA trip…

You can get from NYC all the way up to the Amherst, MA area within the same day on public buses. Either that or the I-95 lot in Stonington.

That was a long journey
Next up, you gotta head into my territory! Connecticut and all of the gruesome transit nightmares that come with it.
